I have received both DVDs of Windows Vista Beta 2 i.e. 64 bit and the regular x86. I have HP laptop with AMD Turion 64 bit processor with 512 MB RAM. So which version of vista should I install? 64 bit or x86?

Installation 64 bit or x86?
Try the 32 bit recomended version first. If you insert the 64 bit version, chances are the autorun file will not be recognised by your computer, whereas the 32 bit version will autorun if you have a 32 bit OS. -- Grahame

The 32 Bit (x86) version is the recommended disk. Insert the 32 Bit Disk and your computer should start the autorun file, if it doesnt try the 64 Bit version. XP will only recognise one or the other autorun files on either disk. -- Grahame

No, actually, it depends on how setup was launched, if you launch Vista x64 setup from within Windows XP x86 you will get an invalid win32 app error. Vista x64 requires a clean install, you can also dual boot with Windows x86.
Both x86 and x64 platforms are identical in their features, the question is, will all your drivers work. -- Andre Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta "Grahame" wrote in message
